A guide for your SME that you can turn to from time to time

MISSION, VISION AND VALUES, These concepts may:

Theoretical and old-fashioned concepts

You may think that they have no practical impact on the evolution of the company.

You may consider that they have no practical impact on the evolution of the company.

You may consider that they have no practical impact on the evolution of the company.

This one doesn’t suit me.

It’s just for me.

It’s only for big companies or you just haven’t stopped to think about them.

It’s just for big companies.

And that is a MISTAKE, but my own common sense, a person who is not clear about their goals in life, usually is a person who is stumbling, disoriented, and the same goes for companies whatever size they are. From those with one employee to thousands, from technology to industrial companies. This is true for all organizations.

We have been doing this for many years.

We have been dealing with companies for many years and we have seen thousands of them, we can assure you and confirm that it is TRUE, companies that have a clear Mission, and live according to their values and principles connect better with their customers and employees, work better and get better results.

The PROBLEM is that very few companies reflect on these points, and many of those that do, hang it on their website or put it on paper in writing and hand it out to their employees, but then do not act on their Mission, Vision and Values.

Having a clear Vision, Mission and Values serves us to have a much more solid foundation from which you can build absolutely EVERYTHING, they are the basis of the strategy, from where we have to define decisions at all levels, including decisions that are taken on a daily basis, it has to be like a guide to which to turn periodically.

How to implement all this in my company? We explain it to you in a few brief steps:

Mission Management.

Mission. To define the Mission of an organization, WHATEVER SIZE IT IS, the first thing we have to do is to answer the following questions:

What do we do?

What do we do? What is our raison d’être? What do we do?

What do we do?

When we have answered these questions we must inform the rest of the world, employees, associates, partners, suppliers, customers, financial institutions, etc. Having a clear mission statement will help us to inspire employees and managers to be able to develop new proposals adapted to the company’s mission. Being very clear about what we do allows us to make the right decisions and, above all, helps us not to get carried away or lose focus of our objective, because we are very clear about what we do. On many occasions, we have the opportunity to grow and make money, which leads many companies to lose focus of their mission, and ends up being a bad growth strategy because they simply lose the north.

Example of our company OLA ACCOUNTING:

“Our mission is to provide high value-added services in the financial-economic area through innovative solutions and tools based on the Cloud. We help thousands of entrepreneurs to take control of their finances and establish the key metrics to succeed in their business. WE ARE VALUE GENERATORS.”

We are a value generator.

Our approach goes in that direction, we could make more money if we allowed in customers to whom we cannot offer a clear added value or that the customer himself does not perceive it, but we do not do it because we would be unfocused from our Mission, and among other things that would disconcert our employees. Therefore, our principle is that we will only have those customers to whom we can offer a clear added value and who perceive it.

Vision. It is common sense, in your company you must have very clear objectives, as it will be much easier to take the appropriate steps to overcome and fulfill them, than if we do not have them; to define our vision we must answer the following questions:

Where are we going?

Where are we going?

Where are we going?

What do we want to achieve?

What do we want to achieve?

What do we want to achieve?

The Vision allows us to define the direction we are going to take; it is the basis for defining our second-level strategic objectives. The Vision has to be ambitious, it forces you to grow and think big, and it helps to motivate not only the whole team but also your partners, suppliers, customers, etc., “I want to be part of this organization.”

What do we want to achieve?

What do we want to achieve?

What do we want to achieve?

Continuing with our example, what is the vision of OLA ACCOUNTING:

.

“Our vision is to democratize access to a technology that until a few years ago only large companies had access to and that allows improving the quality of life of the entrepreneur.”

A clear example of our vision is that of a company that is able to offer a new way of doing business.

A clear example of our Vision is that we help our software providers to have more customers, this would not be strange, if I did not tell you that these customers are our direct competition, they are accounting firms that can offer services very similar to ours, ie we help our competition to be efficient. And after this you may be wondering, but these guys are stupid or what happens to them, because we do it precisely because we have clear our vision, “that everyone has access to new technologies to which a few years ago only large companies had access.

Values. Values are not created, they are not written, what really happens is that values are discovered, they are the principles in which you believe, these usually start from the founders of the organizations, from the CEOS, from the team leaders. Values are what employees, customers, and suppliers perceive about your organization.

Values are what they perceive about your organization.

What do we believe in?

What do we believe in?

What are the principles that guide our actions?

What are the principles that guide our actions?

Diagnose what are the main values on which you have built your organization, whether you are an individual entrepreneur or you have thousands of workers, if you are true to your principles the medium and long term you will do much better.

The best-managed companies are echoing their values, they are talking less and less about their products, features and focus on trying to convey those values and that you feel identified with them, in the end customers prefer to buy from brands or organizations that feel identified with them.

If we talk about real-life you as a person will choose friends, political parties, social club, that are aligned with your values, well in the company the same thing happens, at the level of staff, customers, suppliers.

It is very likely that you will sell more and that your customers will be more loyal, because you will connect better with them and you will be able to attract and retain talent, because we all like to work in companies that have the same values as us, otherwise it is terrible.

Continuing with our example of OLA ACCOUNTING, I could tell you what our values

are.
  • Absolute transparency in the relationship with employees
  • .
  • Very close treatment without the existence of the role of boss-employee.
  • Relationship with customers to be humble if we have not done well, we accept it and work to improve it.
  • Direct and close contact with the customer.
  • Professional ethics.

And I could tell you many more, but the important thing about values is not what we write them on paper, the important thing is that your employees perceive them first, who will be the ones to transmit them to the rest of the world, and then your customers, suppliers, potential investors, etc.

.

Finally, and so that you can reflect on all this, I leave you 8 key questions that we recommend that you always keep in mind and that you start answering them now.

  • Why do we exist?
  • Why do we exist?
  • What do we dream about?
  • What do we dream about?
  • How do we behave?
  • How do we behave?
  • Why will we succeed?
  • What do we offer?
  • What do we offer?
  • What do we offer?
  • What do we offer?
  • What is most important now?
  • What are we doing?
  • What are we doing?
  • What are we doing?
  • What are we going to do to achieve it?

But it doesn’t end here, while you are answering the above questions, we are already preparing another e-book where we will guide you on how to implement a system that allows you to link your Mission, Vision and Values with the day to day life of your organization.
